When did we become these sinking stones?
When did we build this broken home?
Holding each other like ransom notes
Dropping our hearts to grip our brother's throat

You can't see because you don't know
You're caught below, beneath your own shadow
Stuck inside, half alive
Do you ever stop to ask yourself why?

Close your mind, identify
Do you feel, do you feel?
Do you call this a life?

All you waited for
Drowning just to keep score

We always start with good intentions
But lose ourselves along the way

This is the time that we let it go
These are the words that will take us home
Singing the song that's inside us all
If we don't open our eyes we're walking blind

Anchored in anger, we exile ourselves
Bitter blood builds our prison cell
Darker water now fills our lungs
The depths of our heart have blacked the sun

Naked we come, naked we leave
Fools we are, to hold tightly
We are the jail, we are the key
We are free, we are free

This is the time that we let it go
This is the pain we are forced to know
Singing the song that's inside us all
If we just open our eyes

"If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart?"

-Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

"The 'greater good' that many of us claim to be fighting for becomes perverted the instant it becomes about changing others. It is about changing ourselves, and as a result others will inevitably be changed."

-Nothing More

Lyrics to a song

I was at your concert on 1/30 in Salt Lake. The very first song you guys played was amazing but I don't know the name of it. You sang "We are not machines" in the song a couple of times, what is the name of that song? By the way, you guys were amazing live.

The "sinking stones" that Nothing More is referring to is a metaphor that describes the nature of mankind in its cruel and evil ways. "Dropping our hearts to grip our brother's throat," is an excellent example of this as it is noted later in the song. "Anchored in anger we exile ourselves, bitter blood fills our prison cells." Such powerful lyrics!

Saw you guys perform in Grand Rapids last month and it was unreal! Our whole group was blown away by your performance and kept commenting on how far this band can go! If you ever come through Northern Ontario (Oh Canada!) I would be there 100%.

It's a good question, really. When did we become these sinking stones? Here I was, thinking I was human..
